THE case against a personal trainer accused of supplying a client, who later died, with an illegal fentanyl patch has been delayed.
Christopher William Walmsley was due to face Southport Magistrates Court on charges of supplying and possessing a restricted drug for a plea hearing on Wednesday but the matter has been adjourned until May 27.
Walmsley is accused of providing the patch to Michael Clayton, 21, for treatment of an injury, resulting in an overdose and subsequent death of Mr Clayton.
The adjournment means the matter was not finalised at the scheduled hearing. The allegations remained before the court at that stage and should not be treated as findings of guilt. Further proceedings would determine how the charges were addressed.
