Lawyers representing a personal trainer accused of causing the death of a Gold Coast man are seeking a copy of the deceased's death certificate.
Christopher William Walmsley, 21, has been charged with supplying and possessing dangerous drugs after his client Michael Clayton died in April after allegedly using a fentanyl patch supplied by Mr Walmsley.
At a brief mention of his matter in Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday, Mr Walmsley's lawyer said they were still seeking a copy of the death certificate and three witness statements.
The matter has been adjourned until October 15.
The request for the death certificate and witness statements formed part of the preparations for the continuing court proceedings. The allegations had not been determined by the court at the time of the mention. The case was expected to return to court on the adjourned date.
